Its Been A While...

Last Post i mentioned about tryin 2 grind a roll...

well i done ok, then lost it all online gambling!

So tried again this month.. deposited £100, and turned it into £280 in 5 days.

Then lost it all on online gambling!!

Its pretty annoying, because ive proven to my self that i can win at online poker - PLO cash games and PLO varience SnGs. i just need 2 avoid the temptation and only play on soley poker based sites such as stars/full tilt!!

Im looking to try again in a few weeks, but will probs be updating on the team site

need to get a grip of meself and really concentrate on my game and grinding out a proper roll.

Bankroll Builder Challenge

I cant b arsed 2 update other shit atm...not alot been happening, took down gros £2k guarantee for £400 in a 3 way chop - pretty much the highlight of my live poker the past month, as i have not really had the chance 2 play as much as i wud like.

Realised ive been gambling/playin 2 high atm, so ive set myself a bankroll challenge to try get myself back 2gether. starting with £200, playin 10c/20c NLHE for 100BBs and 25c/50c PLO but only buying in for 50BBs. Looking to have around 2 NLHE tables running and 1 PLO table.

Only been doin it 3 days now my results so far are:

Hands Played: 880

Total Profit: £55.68

Current Roll: £255.68

I also have a 33% rakeback deal so im hoping i can get a ok RB per month to keep my head above water during n e down swings.

looking at my results i have better results in PLO than NLHE

PLO: +$214
NLHE: -$140

(give or take)

Im looking to improve hugely in my NLHE online game, as its pretty shit TBH few things i know i need 2 work on and others i hope will come with time.

pretty happy atm, looking to try play 3-5 hours a day and get my roll up to at least £500-£600 by the end of July. Then hopefully i can move up a level.

My GUKPT - Event #3 £250 NLHE

Ended up at the gros pretty early to rail some local lads in the 2nd day of the main event, ended up grinding oot the tables wit Samj and scooped a little profit good start to the day :)

The event started at 6pm, i was on table 1 seat 3, and had a pretty tough table including DC who was sat 2 seats to my left.

Cant remember how exactly but managed to build my stack from 7k up 2 around 11k then i got a nice double up to put me amoung the chip leaders of the tourney at a very early stage.

I get 10-10 in the SB, middle aged guy from earlish position raises about 3.5x the BB its is passed around 2 me...i think abouta raise here bt figure i have 2 pass if he shoves, so ill see a flop...i figure him for a big hand after all.

Dream flop comes Q 10 X - 2 spades but i need value from my hand so check to the raiser who leads out for 1,250.....he has around 11k too so i pop it up to 3,600.....and enters the tank and eventually ships em in, i snap him and he tables KK.....my set holds and i hit the nosebleed heights of 22k pretty early. I pretty much cruise the rest of the tourney, gettin KK v JJ all in a 10 high board, and get my stack to over 40k with a 20k average.

I then play a hand really weird and bad however, there was some logic in there :)

I raise mid position with AKd, folds to BB who calls, i have him covered by about 18k.

Flop comes Q J x.....he checks to me i C-bet to the sound ok 4k.....he thinks forever and raises another 10k.

I enter the tank and my brain ticks over the hand.

He seemed so0o0o0oo weak with tht flop, and his raise tells me he doesnt want 2 go out with this hand, however he feels like outplayin me here.

I settle he has a hand ranging from 77-99, so i pick up the courage and ship in a stack of 20k to put him all in. I figure if he calls i got 10 outs twice - not a huge dog, but im confident he doesnt want 2 play the hand.

He doesnt look very happy, but calls off his last 12k, and tables 10-10. Yeah NH WP.

I brick and am down 2 average chips.

tables get broken and we are down to the final two tables, go on a card dead run for around 1.5 levels and find myself with 16k, when i find AK. I raise up to 3.5k (blinds 500 1k) and the chipped up BB annouces all in. I figure i have him or i am racing....i aint ever passing here tho. He shows me AK....

DANG!!! wat a waste, i pray for 4 to the flush to come out so i can boost above average chips with only 15 left.

and the dealer obliges, ship the 4th spade on river!!!...god damn ive ran good :p

days ends with 13 and i have around 30k - about average chips.

i head home at around 3am, ready to sleep it off and re-start at 2pm Sunday evening, my 1st aim is to final table!!! to me tht wud b a great achievment to make B2B FT's at my first GUKPT!!!

My GUKPT - Event #2 £100 NLHE

After not playing poker for a few days i return pretty pumped up for the £100 1day freeze out.

Once again i am staked by my friend Milo and i am determined to make a return for both myself and my backer this time!!!!

build my stack up too around 10k from 5k pretty easily, also helped for sum1 to shove KK in my AA...always a good start to a tourney :) things were looking up

just before the break i lose a big pot where i call with 8c9c on the button to a raise, flop comes K 8 x - 2 clubs, i check raise the originall raiser who ships, i figure i am happy to take this asit isnt for my tournament life, and i figure i aint a huge dog to anything except a flopped set.

i call and he flips over top set lol....i dont improve and im down 2 around 3k

double up the next hand and grind back to 9k before the break.

as we get down 2 the final 3 tables from the 87 starters i get AK in the SB, shortish stack open shoves from the Hijack, i call and the BB (who is down 2 like 3bbs) calls for value initial shover tables K9, and the BB shows J7....i flop top pair then hit runner runner flush - which i didnt need n e ways to elimate both players. generally pretty easy riding from then on until we get to 13 handed.

I move table and after a few hands i am in the BB for 3k...total stack is around 28k

folds to SB who hesitates then just flats.

I decided to take a free flop with 9s 5h and check

Flop: Ah 9h 4h

BB checks to me

I lead out for 3.3k BB pretty quicky overbets the pots massivly and puts me all in for another 21k...i figure this is the defining point of my tournament.

Initial thoughts:

He doesnt have Ax as he surely raises from the SB to take it down there and then.

Y ship all in with no thought to get any value at such a late stage with a made flush

He hesitated pre which signalled he had a marginal hand, however didnt wanna raise.

surely KhQx makes sense in this spot. Hes happy 2 ship in with Nut flush draw and 2 free shots to get it if i call...or he can take it down here if i pass!

I decided to once again go with my read and settle i am marginally ahead.

After 5mins in the tank i call and he flips QhJx - almost perfect read

however i still need to dodge alottttaaaa cards to stay alive. But forunately for me, the dealers on my side and hits running bricks and i double up to over 53k with a 39k average.

I elimate the bubble as he ships with A10 into my QQ....a 8 high board secures me my 1st GUKPT FT, going in as 3rd Chip Leader!!

ONE TIME!!!!

Nope, i get the worst run of cards in my life, and with 2 really aggressive players 2 my right i dnt find a spot to make amove....i end up shoving A10 into AK no help and im down in 6th place for £455

I take home £200 and give my backer £255

I left pretty gutted and i felt i wud never get another oppotunity to win a GUKPT event. But in good spirits to go deep again in my final event the £250 NLHE!!!

My GUKPT - Event #1 £200 NLHE

The GUKPT seemed to come around so quick, and as it arrived i found myself very excited, for what i figured would be a fantastic week of poker!! - I was not 2 b disapointed.

I had planned to play 3 events through out the week and my 1st EVER GUKPT event was the £200 NLHE, which i was kindly staked into thanks to S2C, DC and Stumpy.

The event started well, 3rd hand in i get AK in the SB, local pro carlos Citrone raises up mid position, button calls and i decide to keep the pot small out of position. Flop comes A high rainbow, i decided to check raises citrone as hes an aggro player who i figure will C bet on this board. He obeys and i pop it up another 400....to which he hollywoods then passes.

I get up 2 7k, from my 6k stack pretty easy. Then i lose a biggish pot with 66 to the BB Q8...

left with 3.3k out of my 6k in the 3rd level this hand creeps up on me...

I limp Late position with Ac7c for 150....button pops it 2 500 total, both blinds pas and i peel a flop.

Flop: K Q 7

not the best flop for me, so i go into check fold mode figuring hes gna fire here. to my suprise he checks behind. I know re evaluate the hand and accuarelty narrow his range to A10...and AJ.

Turn 3

I check again, he leads of for 1.5k....i have about 1.3k (ish) back after i call his 1.5k

i go in the tank and figure i have 2 go with my read...and figure if he has AJ/A10 he cant call due to his stack (if he calls he has less than 2k back)

anyways i figure the hand out perfecly and move in..

to my horror he snap calls me, and i am a little reluctant to flip my hand as i feel i must b so0o0o0o wrong.

however, when he dusnt immediately flip his hand i table my A7 for 3rd pair, and he flips over AJ

River: J

Wat a waste of time it was working oot tht hand!!!

I leave the tournament before the break, totally gutted i went oot so early and cudnt make a reutrn for my backers, and so0oo down i felt like not bothering to come back in the week.

I must learn the secrets of AJ before i return to the felt!!!
